About the Choir

Keswick Hall Choir was established by the late Geoffrey Laycock in 1969 at Keswick Hall College of Education, on the outskirts of Norwich. Following the college's absorption into the University of East Anglia in 1981, the choir developed an independent existence under its present Musical Director, John Aplin, himself a graduate of the UEA. Over the past twenty-five years the choir has attracted the most accomplished and experienced amateur choral singers in Norfolk and established a fine reputation for its performances of challenging repertoire spanning five centuries.

It has performed with nationally and internationally-renowned ensembles: The Gabrieli Consort and Players, Fine Arts Brass Ensemble, English Sinfonia, His Majesties Sagbutts and Cornetts, Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra, Nettle and Markham Piano Duo and the Northern Ballet Theatre.

Entry to Keswick Hall Choir is by audition with the conductor, provided there is a vacancy in the relevant section of choir. If you would like to be considered please contact us.
